I'm writing that today is Monday July 1, 2024 and Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop 2 is available to stream on Netflix. Beverly Hills Cop 3 isn't available to stream on Netflix but it should be available to stream on Netflix because Beverly Hills Cop Axel F will become available to stream on Wednesday July 3, 2024.

Ebert said this film was 'a alot of fun'. Sorcerer is many things, but 'fun' us not exactly one them.
Most realistic slasher film there is. Watch Maniac (1980) with Joe Spinell after.
Interviewer Noah Baumbach reminds me of a young Al Pacino.
The sisters really need to put up a guard rail at the top of the bell tower.
Would be awesome to see a Peckinpah vid just like this
Way underrated movie
The Johnson county war was enough story. The movie didn’t need a 3 way triangle melodrama.
They both got it wrong, it's a great movie and like others who have posted, I too have watched it many times and will continue to do so - and I think that's a sign of a movie that is truly great, it has high "rewatch value".
Its amazing how Siskel was so consistently wrong about so many great movies and misjudged them so egregiously. Ebert was a way more intelligent critic.
Great content worth watching and sharing 🎉
To Sisklel's point the movie would have been so much better with smarter hit-men or a twist. That always knocked the movie down for me. It looked great, had a plausible plot, especially with the Alien-type theme of planet mining in there and was well acted. The movie had a lot going for it but the pay-off was just so weak that it became a little disappointing. I still enjoyed the film but it could have been so much more with a plot twist or two thrown in there.
This is incredible!!!
As much as I enjoyed _Falling Down,_ I will have to agree that the Whammy Burger scene was definitely a bit excessive, 1:06 considering that the Browns Chicken Masacure that happened in Palatine, Illinois earlier that same year...
I bet Natalie Portman did not like at all being referred to as a "tart". Steady on there Gene, she was only 12 at the time! lol I first saw the film when I was about 8 years old and her performance, begging to be let into the apartment, completely stayed with me. That's great acting. I never needed Star Wars to know how good Natalie Portman was lol
It's an ok movie. The premise and style are great, but it drags really long.
This movie is ok if you were a teen in the 80’s like I was, but it didn’t age well and was blown out of the sky just 4 years later by Top Gun. And I know he’s an American Icon, but Eastwood is much better behind the camera than in front of it. His acting is stiff, monotone and always the same. He was the precursor to Kevin Costner; another terribly stiff monotonous actor who’s considered great but who really did his best work as director. Neither of these guys can act their way out of paper bags.
I think it really astounds me that the great Alec Guiness, played the role of an indian man, so I'm slightly glad, such things don't happen anymore. It is incoherent, it didn't''t stick with abstract topics, spirituality or the oppressive racism of the british rule in india.
I've been a big fan of Walter Hill since the 1980s. He has such a unique style plus his movies' soundtracks are awesome too.
I did enjoy this one. Its not perfect, some of the older cast weren't great I felt, but its still very atmospheric and gothic.
When i was kid like 10 or 12 yes i know i was not supposed to this movie but my family put anyways. When i saw the assassin coming with the shotgun at Tony's back. I was like ( No, Tony look behind, turn around!!!) Then Boom!! I felt sorry for Tony. When i got older and thought, wow he had it coming.
Why did you insert the Prosky scene into the original show? Not a fan of editing history.
I absolutely LOVED this movie back in the 90s. It was one of the few movies set in a cyberpunk world and it was so well done. Siskel is a moron for his take on this, and Ebert the genius.
One of the best movies ever filmed in my opinion. But what do I know
I love your composition!
A "documentary from the era" would NOT be THAT clean and polished looking.
"What made you want to become an astronaut?" "Star Wars! What made *you* want to become an archaeologist?" "Raiders of the Lost Ark! And what made *YOU* want to become a marine biologist?" "Jaws! And what made *YOU* want to become a paleontologist?" "Jurassic Park! And what made *YOU* want to become...?" And guess who made all those movies. Is there a director today who inspires career choices with the movies he/she makes? No. Do I need to explain why?
I was 25 when this movie came out. A good friend who'd already seen it asked me join him and a bunch of other mutual buddies who were going to see it again. So we all went to the early evening performance. I was the last person they let into that particular performance and I got stuck in the *very front row in the FAR left seat.* And I STILL had the time of my life. Of course I woke up the next morning with one heckuva sore neck, but it was so worth it.
Love this movie. Have seen it about 5 times.
And how old is the average Taliban fighter? You know the guys that beat the modern Soviet and United States militaries.
Hey Siskel, this movie has aged far better than the ones you mentioned by a lot.
I watch this movie here in México back in 1982 when i was a kid,US figther Pilot Michael grant, dam Russian!!!
One of my favorites!
Never been much of a fan of his career. Had a few moments but poor as a lead. His brother dying seemed to launch his career. I know that sounds harsh and maudlin but I think it's accurate. There is no sane reason why an unfunny crapolla show like According to Jim ran so long.
God what a phony Siskel was, he called the acting in the original ROCKY "embarrassing" and said the character of Adrian was "ridiculous" and here he raves over ROCKY 2 and says he is looking forward to the sequels? Come on.... did somebody pay him off or something, I mean it's absurd.
well he said he enjoyed rocky but not as much as ebert. he did criticize talia and burts characters. i too think they overacted their parts but still think 1 2 and 3 are great
who is the person sharing reviewing duties with roger? she was not very good: she thinks "it's a father daughter story". that has to be one of the lamest takes ever.
Just watch the original 45 minute propaganda movie. The 1990 one is just recreating all the same beats with a lot of filler in between, and the original (though it edits together footage from multiple missions and therefore does not literally depict what it claims to) has the advantage of using real footage. There's no special effect like the real thing.
I've always loved this film. If someone could calm down the matt lines on the effects this would still hold up.
Harold should have paid the £60,000. Then his problem would have been over.
where can i get one ?
44 years later, I finally watched this film. It's pretty good.
This movie's my guilty pleasure. Yes, the movie's preposterous and a cash grab, but the climactic street fight sold it quite well.
I'd like to see Siskel and Ebert talking too... A waste
Vertigo is a very good film that was wildly underrated when it was released and is now wildly overrated. Some of the “romance” storyline is corny as hell
SORCERER is such a misleading title especially after THE EXORCIST, and then STAR WARS and SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT were out.
Was gonna be a sequel he escaped this ride be fair glad it never happened
firefox gets a yes from me
I can explain why the Soviets didn't shoot out the tires. Those are not really rubber tires. On aircraft like this, they would likely be using metal tires that are quite hollow, to cut down on weight. The SR-71 has those. Shooting those wouldn't do much to the tire.
Amazing Film, and a brilliant soundtrack.
